Position Overview
As a Registered Nurse in the Telemetry Unit, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care tailored to a specific demographic of patients. This role involves utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Collaboration and Coordination
In this position, you will work closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and execute treatment plans effectively. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding the resident care team, which includes Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Unit Secretaries.
Key Responsibilities
1. Implement the nursing process to provide care to assigned patients.
2. Conduct thorough physical and psychosocial assessments.
3. Analyze assessment data to identify actual or potential patient issues.
4. Develop and adjust nursing interventions based on patient needs.
5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create and implement care plans.
6. Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
7. Administer prescribed medications accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to protocols.
8. Educate patients and their families about procedures and interventions, utilizing available resources for effective teaching.
9. Participate in interdisciplinary discharge planning, identifying necessary activities for patient transition.
10. Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient status and care plans in accordance with departmental policies.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Nursing. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Additionally, candidates must hold a current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
