POSITION SUMMARY
As the Director of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in steering a dedicated team of Business Development Officers to deliver exceptional financial services tailored for small enterprises. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering sales expansion and meeting ambitious targets within the business banking landscape while overseeing the BDO team and managing diverse business portfolios.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business Development Leadership:
- Direct and mentor business development officers
- Collaborate with senior management to devise strategies for member acquisition
- Engage with prospective members and sustain relationships with current businesses
- Actively participate in community initiatives to enhance the credit union's visibility
- Cross-promote products and services to fulfill member requirements
- Team Management:
- Motivate and support a team of business development professionals
- Facilitate training programs to ensure the team achieves performance benchmarks
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture
- Provide coaching and mentorship within the organization
- Sales Strategy Development:
- Formulate and implement effective sales strategies to drive business banking growth
- Identify emerging business opportunities and stay informed on market dynamics
- Align sales objectives with the credit union's mission
- Member Relationship Enhancement:
- Build and maintain robust relationships with business banking clients
- Assess member needs and deliver customized solutions
- Boost member satisfaction through outstanding service delivery
- Performance Evaluation:
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback
- Identify challenges and capitalize on opportunities
- Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all business banking operations adhere to regulatory standards
- Implement risk management strategies
- Collaborate with compliance and risk management departments
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Preferred college degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in business lending
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of banking operations and lending practices
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership capabilities
- Outstanding communication and public relations skills
- Familiarity with business lending programs and regulatory requirements
- Established connections within the local market
- Proficient in sales, prospecting, and referrals
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to maintain efficient workflows
- Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous
