About the Role

The Center for Justice Innovation is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Supervised Release Program (SRP) in the Brownsville/East New York office. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing administrative and logistical support to ensure the smooth operation of the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the front desk and waiting room, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment for clients and staff.
  • Set up, log, and manage distribution of participant resources, including supplies and equipment.
  • Work with clinical supervisors, security/court officers, or other staff to address emergency situations, crises, or escalations.
  • Support the Administrative Coordinator in office maintenance, including arranging for storage pickups, keeping offices organized, and recalibrating organizational systems as needed.
  • Assist with resolving facilities issues, working closely with the CJI Facilities department and coordinating with contractors/subcontractors.
  • Manage inventory of office supplies and equipment, ordering or purchasing additional supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Assist staff with resolving general tech issues and liaising with the CJI Tech Department for additional support.
  • Assist with setting up for special events, groups, and site visits, including ordering food, tech setup, and arranging desk/chairs/tables.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Administrative Coordinator.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or associate degree with 1-2 years of experience working in an office/human service field is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (English-Spanish or other languages) are preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal, communication, and writing skills are required.
  • Candidates must be highly organized, able to multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and sensitivity to engaging individuals with mental health and substance use needs are essential.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a culturally responsive manner is required.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to communicate appropriately with clients, staff, stakeholders, and vendors are necessary.
  • Proficiency using Google Suite, Slack, and Microsoft programs, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Ability to lift at least 20 pounds is necessary.
  • Familiarity and comfort with computer and tech, hardware and software, are strongly preferred.

  • A competitive salary range of $52,000 - $62,100, commensurate with experience.
