Job Title: Sous Chef

Job Summary:

The Sous Chef is a key member of the culinary team at Cherry Hills Country Club, responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. This includes food production, quality control, inventory management, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise kitchen staff and ensure adherence to high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation.
  • Assist in menu planning, food ordering, and inventory management to ensure efficient and cost-effective food production.
  • Develop and implement recipes, cooking techniques, and presentation styles to enhance the culinary experience for members and guests.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to achieve culinary excellence and maintain the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety and sanitation.
  • Participate in the interview and selection process for kitchen staff and provide input on employee performance evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Sous Chef in a four or five-star resort, club, or hotel.
  • Associate's degree from a postsecondary culinary arts program or a certificate of completion from an accredited culinary apprenticeship program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Possesses a valid driver's license.

Work Environment:

The Sous Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and physical demands. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods is required.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time year-round position, offering a competitive salary of $70,000, plus health benefits, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, and sick pay.
