Job Overview:
The Inventory Control Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining the precision of inventory levels across the organization. This position entails managing all elements of the physical inventory operations and overseeing the manual inventory processes. The individual in this role is tasked with resolving any discrepancies that arise within the company's inventory records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all components of the physical inventory operations, which includes scheduling, developing comprehensive instructions, reconciling results, and reporting findings.
- Design and implement a periodic cycle count program to guarantee the accuracy of on-hand inventory for essential SKUs.
- Collaborate closely with Store and Field Associates to ensure that all personnel are well-trained in current inventory procedures.
- Analyze and investigate discrepancies in the company's inventory records, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Maintain clear communication with Store, Distribution Centers, Support Center, and Field Associates regarding all inventory-related matters.
- Supervise the Mark out of Stock (MOS) system and establish best practices for MOS management.
- Manage the manual inventory adjustment process for Stores and Distribution Centers.
- Develop and implement best practices for Company Inventory Control and facilitate the rollout of these processes to Stores.
- Assist the Accounts Payable team with invoice processing as needed.
- Perform any additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business/Finance.
- A minimum of three years of accounting experience or proven skills through an internal development program.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and work effectively in a professional setting.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and implementation skills.
- Excellent communication skills with team members, guests, and customers.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to complete tasks within designated timeframes.
- Familiarity with JDA software is preferred.
Requirements:
- Physical capability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
- Frequent use of computers and prolonged periods of sitting.
- Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly.
- Frequent use of hands for gripping, reaching, and pinching.
- Occasional bending and twisting.
- Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
