Restaurant General Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Restaurant General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our upscale dining establishment in New York City.

  • Leadership and Team Development: Foster a culture of excellence by leading, motivating, and mentoring all staff members, including front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Ensure effective hiring, training, and performance management processes.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain the highest standards of service, food quality, and cleanliness. Oversee inventory management, supplier coordination, staff scheduling, and food safety protocols.
  • Guest Experience: Provide exceptional and memorable dining experiences for every guest. Address any concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Financial Management: Analyze P&L statements, implement cost control measures, track key performance indicators, and achieve financial goals. Develop and manage budgets to ensure profitability.
  • Menu and Quality Control: Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure consistent quality and presentation of food and beverages. Assist in menu development and pricing strategies.
  • Marketing and Promotions: Work closely with the marketing team to create promotional campaigns, events, and initiatives to drive traffic and brand awareness.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure the restaurant complies with health, safety, and liquor regulations. Uphold company policies and procedures.
  • Event Management: Oversee private events, group bookings, and special occasions to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in restaurant management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Proven experience in financial management, cost control, and budget oversight.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage trends, restaurant operations, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
