About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Catering Sales Professional to join our team at The Westin New York at Times Square. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional to leverage their expertise in catering sales and deliver exceptional results.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling social and local corporate catering opportunities, managing sales efforts for the property, and responding to incoming catering opportunities. They will also identify, qualify, and solicit new catering business to achieve personal and property revenue goals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage sales efforts for the property, including local corporate and social catering
  • Handle social and local corporate catering opportunities that are above the parameters of the Group Sales teams within the Sales Office and come directly to the property (e.g., 150 covers and above)
  • Respond to incoming catering opportunities for the hotel, identify, qualify, and solicit new catering business to achieve personal and property revenue goals
  • Solicit affiliate business associated with citywide events from approved affiliate list provided by Citywide Sales Executive
  • Understand the overall market (e.g., competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc.) and know how to sell against them
  • Closes the best opportunities for the property based on market conditions and property needs
  • Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required
  • PREFERRED: Catering sales experience
