Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Front Desk Representative to join our team at Spire Hospitality. As a Front Desk Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and will be responsible for providing exceptional service and ensuring a seamless experience for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, using a positive and clear speaking voice to understand their needs and provide accurate information.
  • Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from our computer system, confirming pertinent details and promoting marketing programs.
  • Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods, handle cash, make change, and balance an assigned house bank.
  • Post charges to guest rooms and House accounts using the computer, and respond to guest inquiries and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Field guest complaints, conducting thorough research to develop effective solutions and resolve complications in a timely and professional manner.
  • Summon guest service personnel for assistance as needed, and provide safety deposit boxes for guests by escorting them to the vault room.
  • Operate the facsimile machine to send, receive, and log incoming transmissions, and notify guests of incoming faxes using the message function of the computer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, such as assisting PBX operators or reservations agents.

Requirements:

  • Considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and help resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the front office and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
