Job Overview

As a Field Survey Team Leader at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will oversee both independent and collaborative field survey operations. Your role will encompass conducting various types of surveys, including boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, topographic surveys, photo control surveys, route surveys, and construction stakeout, all under the supervision of a Registered Professional Surveyor.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring the effective functioning of the field crew while adhering to established operating procedures and current health and safety regulations. Daily tasks will involve operating robotic total stations and GPS receivers to gather precise data efficiently, as well as performing duties such as clearing brush, driving stakes, maintaining detailed notes and diagrams, and upkeeping company equipment and survey vehicles.

Attention to detail is crucial in this role, as you will assist a Licensed Surveyor with a variety of projects, which may include scheduling crew assignments, developing deed work maps, creating base maps, and conducting courthouse research to gather right-of-way property information.



Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of surveying experience;
  • Proficient in using GPS devices, data collectors, and/or Total Stations;
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative;
  • Understanding of land surveying principles, techniques, and practices;
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting principles and instruments;
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction specifications, plans, and regulations;
  • Awareness of industry-specific safety practices;
  • Capability to operate motorized equipment;
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying field conditions;
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
