Position Overview

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking a Director of Banking Partnerships. This role involves a hybrid work model, allowing for both onsite and remote work flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Drive and implement the banking strategic initiatives in collaboration with sponsor banks.
  • Relationship Management: Develop and sustain a robust portfolio of banking relationships across the US and Canada, ensuring regular engagement with key personnel.
  • Negotiation: Lead discussions on pricing and commercial agreements to optimize bank partnerships.
  • Business Development: Identify and nurture new sponsor bank relationships to align with strategic goals, particularly in sectors like iGaming, Nutra, and Crypto.
  • Onboarding Process: Oversee the comprehensive onboarding of new sponsor banks, including negotiations of agreements and compliance reviews.
  • Strategic Contribution: Assist in shaping the sponsor bank strategy, including the distribution of business among banks.
  • Technical Advisory: Serve as a technical consultant during sponsor bank implementations.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct analytical assessments of bank processing volumes to support informed decision-making.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay updated on changes to card scheme regulations that may affect banking relationships.
  • Audit Coordination: Facilitate sponsor bank audits in collaboration with Risk and Operations teams.
  • Cost Management: Monitor banking fees and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies.
  • Communication: Provide regular updates to business units regarding the banking landscape and relationship status.
  • Support for Payment Gateways: Ensure adequate banking support for various payment gateways and models.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside the Banking team on non-card processing initiatives.
  • Escalation Point: Act as a primary contact within the organization for banking matters.
  • Presentation Preparation: Create and deliver presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years in relationship management, with at least 5 years in the banking or merchant services sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline.
  • Dynamic and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in managing multiple priorities and meeting stringent deadlines.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical thinker with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, with flexibility provided.
