Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Aviation Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal work, with a focus on aviation applications.

This role involves performing sheet metal repairs, modifications, and installations on various types of aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform sheet metal repairs and maintenance on aircraft structures, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces, and interior.
  • Modifications and Fabrications: Modify and fabricate sheet metal parts and assemblies according to blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft sheet metal structures to identify any damage or wear. Test repaired structures to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and repair manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Precision Work: Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate and high-quality workmanship.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all applicable aviation regulations, safety protocols, and company policies during all phases of work.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics, technicians, and engineers to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an FAA-approved aviation maintenance technician school preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience as a sheet metal mechanic in the aviation industry.
  • Certifications: A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certification is preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Proficient in the use of sheet metal tools and equipment, including shears, brakes, drills, and rivet guns. Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of aviation safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
