Welcome to the City of Dallas Texas, where we offer exciting opportunities for growth and development. Our Development Services Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Development Services Administrator.

Job Summary

The Development Services Administrator will be responsible for supervising a division of the Development Services Department, conducting research, providing data, making recommendations, and implementing solutions to achieve department goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develops administrative and operational plans to ensure the efficient operation of a division of the Development Services Department.
  2. Oversees coordination between the department's divisions, other departments, and contracted agencies throughout the duration of assigned special projects.
  3. Attends meetings with individual stakeholders, organizations, and associations as they relate to a division of Development Services.
  4. Prepares responses for City Council, staff, and citizens regarding a division of Development Services.
  5. Suggests and implements management solutions to address new or ongoing problems within department, division, or section.
  6. Monitors and maintains performance metrics for assigned division of Development Services.
  7. Prepares reports relating to Development Services Department issues.
  8. Prepares training programs for staff related to customer services affecting the section and department.
  9. Prepares budget recommendations for the section.
  10. Serves as liaison to address City Council concerns through assigned staff.
  11. Coordinates street name changes.
  12. Serves as departmental representative on committees.
  13. Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Organizational Development, or Business field.
  • Six (6) plus years of professional level experience in any of the following: Organizational development/leadership, Business process development/review, Local government code development/policy administration, Zoning/code interpretation.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • International Code Council Certifications (e.g., building, zoning, mechanical, plumbing, fire, or energy).
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
