Job Summary

Georgetown University is seeking a highly skilled Specimen Collector to join our Infectious Diseases Clinical Trials Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collecting patient specimens, processing them, and entering data into our clinical trial sponsor system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of research processes and how specimen collection and data submission fit into those processes from a clinical research perspective.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure regulatory requirements are met for specimen collection and data submission.
  • Create and document instructions for complex tasks to facilitate training and knowledge sharing.
  • Document specimen collection and data submission processes, verifying that recommended solutions align with research requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, internal resources, and support teams to ensure objectives are met.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and develop process improvements.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with a year of related work experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and experience with Workday are required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse community.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Previous experience in clinical specimen collection and data submission, with the ability to create and document procedures for training materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a general knowledge of clinical research.
Working Conditions and Compensation

This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week, with a salary of $40 per hour. The projected pay range for this position is $42.10 per hour.
