Job Summary

The Direct Print Supervisor - Nights is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the production process on a rotating 12-hour shift. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to motivate and develop direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop direct reporting staff, ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee production operations, ensuring all products meet approved manufacturing specifications.
  • Monitor and assess production personnel operating proficiency and efficiency, initiating remedial or continuing training as necessary.
  • Support company safety awareness and incentives to promote a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective production handovers and coordination.
  • Positively manage, develop, and motivate subordinate leaders and direct reports.
  • Monitor equipment, processes, and production personnel to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Ensure production personnel are properly trained and adhering to all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WIs), and human resource policies.
  • Monitor critical items and supervise/inform production personnel to ensure customer commitments are met.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a related field, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years minimum of supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Fluency with applications such as Excel, Word, Oracle, and Cognos.
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and able to work independently.
  • High degree of attention to detail with emphasis on timely and accurate completion of work product.
  • History of dependability and responsibility.
  • Willingness to learn and perform new job functions.
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently and well with others.
  • Overtime required when needed, including weekends.
  • Good attendance and flexibility to assist with workloads without notice for planned/unplanned absences.
  • Highly motivated, creative, and results-driven personality.
  • Time management and being approachable and available.
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, communicating with employees and management.
  • Self-starter able to work with minimum oversight of the department manager at times.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and direct one's efforts to the tasks requiring the most immediate attention.

Work Environment

  • Moderate to high levels of noise, requiring awareness of surroundings due to equipment in use.
  • Working environment may be dusty, oily, and/or slippery.
  • Slip-resistant or steel toe safety shoes are required.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Dust mask, gloves, safety glasses, and goggles may be required in designated areas.
