The Salvation Army is seeking to hire a Nighttime Program Coordinator at the Herberger Campus. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. This role is eligible for benefits including vacation, sick leave, health insurance, vision coverage, life insurance, paid holidays, and more.


The Program Coordinator will perform regular inspections of the facility and grounds through rounds or CCTV monitoring to ensure the security of the premises as required.

The Coordinator will handle intake inquiries; gather, document, and analyze information and referral sources; identify candidates who qualify for admission; refer candidates to other programs as needed; and manage a waiting list if necessary, overseeing all admission procedures.

The Coordinator must maintain a non-judgmental approach while working with clients.

The Program Coordinator will oversee clients' living spaces and personal belongings to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; conduct inspections, manage cleanups, maintain adequate furnishings, and process Personal Property Request Slips, as well as check inventories.

The Coordinator will supervise client reception functions, coordinate social services, and arrange appropriate assistance for clients. They will prepare and maintain monthly service reports and manage incoming mail.

Additionally, the Coordinator will facilitate clients' participation in external activities such as support group meetings, church services, and relevant special events.

The Program Coordinator will assist the Lead Program Coordinator, clinical staff, or vocational supervisor with oversight of client crews, specific operations, or special projects.

The Program Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Shelter Client Services Manager and Lead Program Coordinator, which may include:
client database management, liaising with IT regarding technical issues, and other special administrative tasks.

Other duties may be assigned by the Shelter Client Services Manager and Lead Program Coordinator as they relate to the Program Coordinator role.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be available to work overnight
High School Diploma or GED required

College coursework related to social services or relevant experience preferred

6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training preferred

Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills required

Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to write reports and perform basic calculations


Capability to manage crisis situations or services for the homeless and utilize crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with clients and motivate program participants towards achieving housing goals

Exhibit professional and courteous communication at all times

Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative

Must possess or be eligible to obtain a fingerprint clearance card

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays


Possess a service-oriented interpersonal style that anticipates and responds to the needs of client departments with a willingness to learn.

Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, procedures, processes, and policies.

Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
