Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director of Quality and Population Health to join our team at Ascension Wisconsin. This individual will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating initiatives around quality and population health, ensuring that our medical group meets its goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct medical policies and programs to achieve financial targets and evaluate organizational functions and structure.
  • Facilitate strategic clinical relationships with physicians and work with leadership to develop a strategic plan for growth of clinical practice.
  • Ensure that clinical programs are in compliance with governmental and regulatory requirements and implement utilization review and quality improvement systems.
  • Implement educational programs and offerings and may provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
  • Prepare annual operating budget for assigned service areas and consult with planning and operations leadership in new program development.
  • Supervise any assigned medical/resident programs and report directly to the CMO of AMG WI.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in population health management as well as quality.
  • Excellent physician relations skills and proven experience growing service line volume in a multi-facility health system.
  • Skills in relationship development and collaboration across a matrix environment to establish a shared vision and strategy for quality and population health.
  • Proven effective and innovative business development expertise, experience, and skills gained within an organization known for leading-edge program development in an organization committed to care excellence.
  • A strong customer focus and the ability to develop short and long-term goals and plans; program evaluation; and budget preparation and ensures the services and programs are provided by the department to achieve quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze market research data designed to provide relevant information for decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication skills- written, verbal, presentation, listening- and the confidence to represent the organization in both formal and informal settings.
  • A leadership style which emphasizes personal accountability and visibility within the system and within the community.
  • A firm commitment to an understanding of delivering high quality healthcare services with an unparalleled commitment to customer service as a necessary component for success.
  • Ability to build an organizational culture which embraces compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence to support achieving the quadruple aim of the organization.
  • Knowledge of population health operations in managed care, including quality management, outcomes, provider network, claims, financial management, care management policies, disease state and population management, members rights and responsibilities, and the ability to quickly understand and assess program compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Will only consider an MD or DO.
  • Maintaining some clinical practice (10% 30%) preferred.
