JOB OVERVIEW:

Position Summary:

A Business Systems Analyst is tasked with conducting comprehensive business systems analysis, focusing on the application of analytical methodologies to the development, design, and execution of enhanced business information systems and processes that align with the operational needs of client organizations. This role involves performing needs assessments to identify potential enhancements in business process solutions; executing business process reengineering; carrying out feasibility assessments and comparative analyses; acting as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders; collaborating with clients to clarify, refine, and detail functional requirements, and converting these requirements into technical specifications; formulating overall functional and systems requirements; preparing business cases for IT solution implementations; defining the scope and objectives of systems; estimating costs for new or modified systems; ensuring the seamless integration of all system components, including policies, procedures, training materials, databases, software, and hardware; conducting performance and reliability evaluations of new solutions; planning and engaging in systems deployment and offering post-deployment support; and ensuring strict adherence to information security and assurance policies throughout the systems analysis process.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in structured analysis principles and methodologies; systems analysis techniques; analytical concepts and methods, including cost-benefit analysis; foundational IT architecture and technical documentation practices; systems design methodologies, including automated tools for systems analysis and design sufficient to develop specifications that meet business needs; standards and policies for systems design to assist in identifying and detailing business requirements for new or enhanced systems; and the ability to advise on the merits of proposed systems development initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical capabilities to pinpoint inefficiencies and identify improvement opportunities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively gather requirements from diverse stakeholders across business and technical domains. Proficiency in drafting clear, concise, and well-structured business and technical documentation. Familiarity with Scrum methodology and Azure DevOps.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience applying analytical processes in IT projects, with at least three (3) years specifically in business systems analysis and design.

Preferred Experience:

  • Three years of experience in documenting existing business processes using industry-standard methodologies (e.g., flowcharts, swim lane diagrams, data flow diagrams, use case diagrams).
  • Three years of experience capturing requirements via Azure throughout the development lifecycle using various formats, including Epics, Features, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Three years of experience analyzing documented processes to identify optimization opportunities and the ability to document proposed improvements leveraging Dynamics 365 and Azure capabilities.

Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree is required. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Information:

  • This position is remote. Candidates are expected to work PST hours. The project involves developing a Dynamics 365 business application for a specific division, identifying undocumented business processes, and producing comprehensive workflow models, functional and technical requirements, and architectural diagrams, while utilizing Microsoft's Dynamics 365 and Azure Cloud technologies.
