Position Summary
The role of an Experienced Electrician is pivotal within the refinery environment. This position entails executing a diverse range of maintenance, repair, and construction tasks, both in field and workshop settings, necessitating advanced skill levels. The successful candidate will be tasked with troubleshooting and rectifying control and power systems, spanning from 120V to 115KV, while employing various testing instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure work is performed efficiently and in compliance with established protocols, regulations, and safety standards.
- Engage in troubleshooting, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Disassemble, remove, install, and reassemble equipment as necessary.
- Maintain and repair control systems and equipment, including both analog and digital devices.
- Work on power systems and associated equipment such as motors, transformers, and circuit breakers.
- Utilize hand, power, and precision tools safely and effectively.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently while planning and organizing tasks.
- Estimate labor and material requirements while optimizing resource use.
- Seek opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Foster positive relationships with operators and other trades within the organization.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid driver's license is necessary.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment.
- Experience with trade-specific pneumatic tools is preferred.
Preferred Experience
- 3+ years in refining or petrochemical environments.
- 5+ years as a Journey-Level Electrician or Lineman.
- Certification as a Journey-Level Electrician is required.
- Additional certifications in protective relays, power circuit breakers, and electrical technology are advantageous.
Assessment Process
Selected candidates will undergo a series of assessments designed to evaluate their aptitude and skills relevant to the electrical trade.
