Position Summary

The role of an Experienced Electrician involves executing a range of maintenance, repair, and construction tasks within both field and workshop environments at the refinery, necessitating advanced skill levels. Qualified candidates will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing control and power systems, spanning from 120V to 115KV, and will utilize various testing instruments. This position collaborates daily with other maintenance trades, reliability teams, operations, and technical groups. As a 24/7 operational facility, the role requires flexibility for overtime, weekend, holiday, and shift work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the effective execution of tasks within established timeframes and in compliance with safety regulations and applicable codes.
  • Work within Process Plant and Electric Shop environments.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Disassemble, remove, assemble, and install equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain and repair control systems and equipment, including both analog and digital devices.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of power systems, working with motors, transformers, reactors, relays, and circuit breakers.
  • Utilize hand, power, and precision tools safely and effectively, while performing necessary calculations and computer usage.
  • Interpret blueprint drawings, schematics, logic diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently, while planning and organizing personal workload.
  • Estimate labor and material requirements, ensuring the safe and economical use of resources.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of refinery policies and procedures.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to address complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Foster positive working relationships with operators and other trades, both internally and externally.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Proficient in using Electrical Test Equipment (e.g., multi-meters, megger meters).
  • Experienced with trade-specific pneumatic tools such as conduit benders and crimpers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in refining or petrochemical environments.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Journey-Level Electrician or Lineman.
  • Certification as a Journey-Level Electrician is required.
  • Certifications in protective relays, power circuit breakers, and electrical technology are advantageous.
  • Experience as a Lineman is a plus.

Testing & Assessments

Selected candidates will undergo a series of assessments to evaluate their aptitude and skills relevant to the position.
