Associate Director, Philanthropic Funds

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Philanthropic Funds to join our team at Stony Brook University. The successful candidate will serve as a partner to academic leaders in effectively spending philanthropic funds to meet their goals and demonstrate to donors the impact of their gifts.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a plan across Academic Affairs to enhance usage of academic philanthropic funds both current use and endowed.
- Engage frequently in conversations and consultation with Fund Administrators, Deans, and other academic leadership offices on ways to utilize unspent funds and strategize on ways to amend current gift agreements to create flexibility for spending.
- Compile, analyze, and present quarterly reporting and modeling to Fund Administrators in academic departments, dean's offices, and other academic leadership offices.
- Engage development officers, Foundation staff, and gift administration colleagues to ensure compliance with donor intent and all relevant advancement policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in a relevant field.
- Four (4) years of full-time professional experience in budget management, finance management, project management, grants and/or funds management or relevant experience.
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel to include use of advanced formulas and functions.
- Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Finance, Higher Education, or other related field.
- Experience working in a non-profit and/or higher ed environment, especially in customer service, fundraising, or enrollment management roles.
- Experience managing and analyzing data and generating reports in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, etc.
In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan.
