Biomedical Postdoctoral Associate- Research/Teaching
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biomedical sciences and a passion for teaching and research. This is a three-year appointment with The Research Foundation of SUNY at Stony Brook University.
Responsibilities:- Conduct research experiments in a biological/biomedical field, collect and analyze data, and participate in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals.
- Assist with lab management, mentoring of junior scientists, and lab maintenance.
- Participate in pedagogic and professional development training provided through the NIH IRACDA NY-CAPS Program.
- Attend scientific conferences and meetings.
- PhD (or foreign equivalent) in a biological/biomedical field related to Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) conferred by the time of hire or by August 2024.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident as per sponsor's (National Institutes of Health) guidelines.
- Early in their postdoctoral stage, with no more than 2 years from the date of their doctoral degree.
- Experience in other diversity programs either as an undergraduate or graduate.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity in the academy.
- Experience and/or commitment to teaching on the college level.
- A first-author publication accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Three-year salaried appointment with The Research Foundation of SUNY at Stony Brook University.

- Workshops and trainings' on essential skills such as grant and manuscript writing, mentoring, pedagogy, and scientific presentations.
- Development of teaching skills through pedagogy courses and workshops that encourage active, evidence-based learning.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines, and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. The minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
