Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Director of Addiction Psychiatry to join our team at Stony Brook University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical, educational, and research programs for substance use disorders, as well as coordinating efforts between hospitals and clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical programs for substance use disorders
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop programs and move the community towards a prevention model
  • Recruit and retain junior and mid-level clinicians and scientists
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and staff at affiliated institutions
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Demonstrated expertise in addiction medicine
  • Experience running a multidisciplinary team of practitioners
  • Board-Certified in Addiction Psychiatry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership experience in building and expanding substance use disorder services across a health system
  • History of applying for and running an addictions psychiatry fellowship
  • History of federal grant funding
