ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE
The Food & Beverage team plays a crucial role in delivering a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring that products are fresh, well-stocked, and accurately priced on the sales floor. This team excels in operations, processes, and efficiency, overseeing all aspects of food and beverage services, including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signage throughout the store.
As a Culinary Service Specialist, you will gain:
- Expertise in guest service fundamentals and experience in product sampling.
- Understanding of state and federal food safety regulations and OSHA guidelines.
- Experience in managing food quality and freshness.
- Providing an outstanding guest experience by ensuring a fresh, fully stocked, and safe food environment during all operational hours, prioritizing guest needs over tasks.
- Implementing Food & Beverage processes, including food deliveries, replenishment, stocking, zoning, data accuracy, and cleaning routines.
- Maintaining adherence to Food & Beverage Standards and all food safety protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with all brand standards, particularly for Pizza Hut (where applicable).
- Understanding how operational procedures influence inventory and profitability.
- Keeping the dining area neat, clean, and inviting for guests at all times.
- Executing transitions in Food Service and Pizza Hut.
- Staying informed about all promotional activities within the Café and Pizza Hut (where applicable).
- Producing items according to specifications and following departmental routines to enhance sales and profitability.
- Monitoring and documenting temperature-sensitive food items as per best practices.
- Completing and recording all cleaning tasks in the food service area as outlined in best practices.
- Adhering to proper packaging and labeling guidelines for food products.
- Following inventory procedures to ensure accurate stock records.
- Complying with all food safety requirements as per best practices.
- Executing sampling best practices.
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere by genuinely greeting all guests.
- Observing guest body language and verbal cues to tailor interactions.
- Engaging with guests in a sincere manner, asking questions to better understand their needs.
- Being knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store to assist guests effectively.
- Expressing gratitude to guests and making them feel valued for choosing Target.
- Completing necessary training and certifications for Pizza Hut.
- Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Working safely at all times, identifying and correcting hazards, and adhering to safety policies.
- Supporting guest services such as backup cashiering and order pickup while maintaining compliance with relevant laws.
- Performing other duties as needed based on business requirements.

- Quickly resolving guest inquiries on the spot.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
- Accurate handling of cash register operations.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Efficiently scanning, handling, and moving merchandise, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Handling merchandise in coolers and freezers, also up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in environments where common allergens may be present.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with regular attendance required.
