Job Title: Cook II

We are seeking a skilled Cook II to join our team at JobsRUs.com. in San Jose, CA.

Job Summary:

The Cook II will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items for various meal periods. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook food to order, using short and broader preparation time.
  • Produce food and serve customers at an a la carte or operate a grill station.
  • Prepare food in accordance with current federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Read food orders or receive verbal instructions and prepare and cook food accordingly.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs.
  • Prepare foods by operating various kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use.
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment, and follow all client and regulatory rules and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 3 to 4 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and cash-handling procedures preferred.

  • Presents self in a highly professional manner to others.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives.
