Campus Dining Cook and Server Job Description

Campbell Union High School District is seeking a skilled and experienced Campus Dining Cook and Server to join our team. As a key member of our Food Services team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a wide variety of foods to students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of foods, including salads, sandwiches, baked goods, and main courses, using standardized recipes that meet nutrition requirements.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, appliances, and utensils in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Estimate quantities needed and select, measure, and prepare ingredients for cooking and baking.
  • Verify expiration dates on foods and maintain proper temperature controls to ensure food safety.
  • Assist with menu development and provide input on food preparation and presentation.
Requirements:
  • Experience in food services, preferably in a school or cafeteria setting.
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation precautions, as well as proper handling of food products and money.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to maintain inventory and other records.
  • Food Safety Certification required by the Health Department.
Working Conditions:

The Campus Dining Cook and Server will work in a fast-paced school cafeteria environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
