The Lead Packaging Operator plays a crucial role in the packaging department, collaborating closely with the Packaging Supervisor and Plant Operations Manager to ensure that seed packages are labeled correctly and clearly, adhering to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting work activities in a safe manner
  • Applying the necessary tags and labels to seed packages as required
  • Performing accurate inventory counts of bagged seeds
  • Lifting and stacking materials weighing up to 68 lbs for extended durations
  • Handling materials at or above shoulder height for prolonged periods
  • Standing to fill and seal packaged products for extended timeframes
  • Completing forklift training and obtaining an operator's certification
  • Safely navigating stairs and/or ladders to monitor and adjust machinery
  • Thoroughly cleaning all equipment to maintain product quality
  • Assisting in the implementation and upkeep of the Quality Management System
  • Ensuring a tidy, clean, and organized workspace
Qualifications:
  • Preferred background in agriculture, though not mandatory
