WIC Nutrition Specialist

Job Summary:

The Livingston County, NY is seeking a highly skilled WIC Program Nutritionist to join our team. As a WIC Program Nutritionist, you will play a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of women, infants, and children in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess nutritional needs of clients and determine eligibility for the WIC program
• Develop and implement nutrition education plans for clients
• Conduct individual and group counseling on maternal and child health nutrition
• Provide nutritional counseling to clients and their families
• Organize and direct educational efforts to influence public attitudes and behavior regarding health needs
• Conduct health educational programs for community groups, schools, and community agencies
• Prepare and develop educational materials for program staff
• Establish and maintain liaison with community and governmental agencies
• Participate in studies and surveys of nutrition and health needs in the community

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate health-related field from a New York State or regionally accredited college or university
• 6 credit hours in nutrition studies
• Registration as a Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR)
