The Smith is a popular casual neighborhood restaurant that offers a lively atmosphere and a menu featuring bistro classics, seasonal fare, and craft cocktails. Our restaurant is a versatile setting for an after-work bite, drinks on the town, a birthday bash, a working lunch, a bountiful brunch, or an I-don't-want-to-cook-tonight night.

The Position: Restaurant Assistant General Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Assistant General Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with Hiring and Training: Assist directly with hiring and training decisions for the front-of-house team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensuring Food Safety and Sanitation: Hold team members accountable for company food safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff.
  • Overseeing Company Systems and Policies: Oversee and ensure that all company systems and policies are maintained, including labor laws and practices.
  • Providing Excellent Customer Service: Be attentive to all guests and managers while on the floor, creating a great guest experience for all.
  • Training and Development: Make sure all new employees go through the proper training and have all the necessary tools to be successful in their position.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Assist the General Manager in all forecasting and budgeting.
  • Senior Management Meetings: Attend all necessary senior management meetings in the absence of the General Manager.
