Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Peer Mentor, working closely with young adults who have transitioned out of residential treatment. As a Peer Mentor, you will provide guidance, supervision, and support, acting as a positive adult role model in their lives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and administering the client's written treatment plan, resolving any issues that may arise, and assisting with accountability, organization, and implementation of their full-time program. You will also monitor the client's activities both in and outside of the home and school, provide transportation when needed, and chaperone them to social events and activities.

In addition, you will work collaboratively with biological parents, clinical staff, and family consultants to deliver didactic and experiential education sessions, teaching daily living skills, social skills, cognitive restructuring, and other essential skills.   • Ability to develop alliances and maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize de-escalation skills in a volatile situation
  • Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
  • Excellent organizational skills, familiarity with systems to assist individuals with special needs
