Position Title: Phlebotomist I
Functional Group: Phlebotomy/Patient Service
Contract Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension or conversion to permanent)

Work Schedule:
Monday 9 AM - 2 PM
Tuesday 9 AM - 2 PM
Wednesday 10 AM - 2 PM
Thursday 10 AM - 2 PM
Friday 9 AM - 2 PM
Total Weekly Hours: 23 hours

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform blood draws, label specimens, and manage specimen processing, including centrifugation and maintenance records.
  • Accurately explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods to patients.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Ensure complete understanding of physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes.
  • Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required protocols to maintain specimen integrity.
  • Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in annual training sessions and respond to inquiries regarding laboratory results.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation:
$19.00 per hour
Expected Work Hours: 23 hours per week

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in phlebotomy.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in venipuncture.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician.

Work Location: In-person
