Job Summary

Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its Loss Prevention team. As a key member of the ONESCCU team, the successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding member assets and minimizing deposit and loan losses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Loss Prevention Team: Oversee the Loss Prevention team, ensuring timely and effective prevention or detection of deposit and loan fraud.
  • Collaborate with Government Agencies: Work effectively with government agencies, such as the Secret Service, FBI, IRS, and community law enforcement agencies, to prevent fraud and investigate suspicious activity.
  • Develop and Implement Risk Management Strategies: Recommend and implement changes to processes to maintain compliance and streamline workflows, utilizing automation whenever possible.
  • Prepare and Present Reports: Prepare accurate and timely periodic and ad-hoc reporting for Management and the Board on Loss Prevention activities.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Additional coursework, CFCS, ABA, or other financial crime certifications are required.
  • Prior Experience: 5-8 years of leadership experience, with prior experience in a financial institution, including leadership experience in fraud prevention/detection/investigation and compliance responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Understanding: Knowledge and understanding of deposit and loan fraud detection systems and processes, as well as deposit and loan operations, systems, and processes.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
