Job Summary

The William & Mary School of Education is seeking a pool of qualified individuals to serve as university supervisors for the academic year. As a university supervisor, you will play a critical role in mentoring and supervising teacher candidates during their student teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and supervise teacher candidates during their student teaching experience
  • Observe and evaluate student teachers in K-12 public school settings
  • Provide coaching and feedback to student teachers
  • Facilitate conferences with student teachers and cooperating teachers
  • Complete formal evaluations of student teachers' performance
  • Serve as a liaison between the university and area schools

Requirements

  • Former teaching or instructional administration experience in a public school division
  • At least three years of successful, full-time teaching experience
  • Master's degree
  • Written or verbal recommendation(s) from former supervisors or administrative colleagues
  • Current or former state teaching license
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in educational coaching or mentoring, especially with novice teachers

Compensation and Benefits

The university supervisor will receive a stipend of $665 per student supervised, as well as mileage reimbursement for required site visits.
