Job Title: Director of Operations-Community Engagement

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations-Community Engagement to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our organization, including managing personnel, facilities, and fleet, as well as developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with community agencies, schools, and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the regular and ongoing daily operations of the organization's programs, ensuring that they are carried out according to the design and intent set forth in the operational plan.
  • Develop and review on a regular basis the program plan for content fit, effectiveness, and relevance, working closely with the Director of Program Services & Impact.
  • Ensure that programming schedules are reviewed and aligned with program curriculum and activities routinely.
  • Manage the personnel required to carry out the functions of the programs and responsibilities of the position, including managing hours and work schedules for all staff.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with external entities to meet organization needs, including school districts, community agencies, business/corporate entities, community coalitions, local governmental and law enforcement officials, churches, etc.
  • Accountable for the safety of staff, youth, parents, visitors, club facilities at all Club Units by ensuring the implementation of sound safety practices throughout programming.
  • Manage the comprehensive collection and reporting of information for programs, ensuring the integrity and timeliness of all data collection and reporting of programs.
  • Collaboratively design, implement and evaluate the annual implementation of the chart of work [work plan] for the position, working closely with the Executive Director.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years' work experience in a Boys & Girls Clubs or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
  • Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; of the practices and principles of non-profit organizations.
  • Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, subordinates, Advisory Board/Council members, community groups and other related agencies.
