Key Responsibilities- Document Management: Assist in the creation, maintenance, and distribution of safety documents, including policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Record Management: Help with the organization and management of safety records, ensuring they are up to date and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries related to safety metrics and compliance.
- Training and Development: Develop and maintain a checklist to track employee participation in safety training programs across all locations.
- Training Coordination: Assist in the scheduling and coordination of safety training sessions, including logistics and communication with participants.
- Training Compliance: Monitor training completion rates and follow up with employees and managers to ensure compliance with training requirements.
- Research and Development: Conduct research and gather data on industry best practices and regulatory updates to support continuous improvement of safety programs.
- Initiative Implementation: Assist with the implementation of new safety initiatives, including risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Audit and Inspection Support: Participate in safety audits and inspections, providing support with documentation and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Communication and Engagement: Help create and distribute safety-related communications, such as newsletters, safety alerts, and posters.
- Committee Support: Assist in organizing safety committee meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
- Culture Development: Support the development of employee engagement programs to promote a safety-first culture across all locations.
- Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data entry and report generation.
- Personal Qualities: A keen interest in workplace safety and a commitment to promoting a safe work environment.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license and clean MVR.
- Work Schedule: Normal business hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. The Safety Intern position allows for flexible and variable hours, based on your availability.
- Pay Rate: $17/hr.
