Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and friendly Server to join our team at Great Wolf Lodge. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, taking food and beverage orders, serving food and beverages, and handling transactions in a positive and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take Food and Beverage Orders: Present menu to patrons, offer cocktails and appetizers, suggest courses, explain chef's specialties, identify appropriate wines, and answer food preparation questions.
- Transmit Orders: Record patrons' choices, identify special dietary needs and special requests, and transmit orders to the bar and kitchen.
- Serve Orders: Pick up and deliver patrons' choices from the bar and kitchen, including accompaniments and condiments from service bars, as requested.
- Respond to Patron Requirements: Inquire about needs, observe dining process, and maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
- Obtain Revenues: Total charges, issue bill, accept payment, deliver bill and payment to the host person, and return change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
- Protect Establishment and Patrons: Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
Requirements:
- Education: Some High School education or equivalent.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) as they apply to cash handling.
- Scheduling: Must be flexible regarding scheduling based on business demands, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen: Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Server Experience: Previous experience as a server in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Point-of-Sale (POS) Technology: Prior experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) technology.
- Teamwork: Proven teamwork and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Professional Image: Projects a professional image that inspires trust and confidence.
- Enthusiasm and Positive Energy: Enthusiastic and positive energy, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: Able to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Bending, Stretching, and Twisting: Able to bend, stretch, and twist.
- Standing: Able to stand for long periods of time.
