Enterprise Systems Consultant
The University of Illinois Foundation serves as the primary organization for fundraising and receiving private gifts for the University of Illinois. It collaborates with alumni, faculty, corporations, and foundations to develop fundraising initiatives that support the University.
The Enterprise Systems Consultant will gain insight into the operations of various business units and translate their requirements into effective technical solutions. This role involves developing a comprehensive understanding of the systems and software utilized and acting as a bridge between the business community and the software development team, facilitating discussions around requirements and design.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Organize and lead discussions between business and technical teams to comprehend and document operational tasks, designing solutions that improve business processes. Act as a liaison between vendors and internal personnel.
2) Utilize various techniques to gather and analyze business and system requirements. Produce functional documentation that details business processes, requirements, and guidance on optimizing the use of advancement systems.
3) Address issues, conduct data analysis, propose solutions, test fixes or alternatives, and communicate resolutions to end users promptly.
4) Collaborate closely with business partners to create use cases, functional test cases, and test scripts. Execute test scripts to validate software functionality and work towards resolving any issues.
5) Develop expertise in UIF enterprise systems to configure software in alignment with business processes.
6) Undertake additional responsibilities relevant to the role of an Enterprise Systems Consultant.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a professional setting.
- Strong facilitation skills with a proven track record of leading diverse groups towards resolution.
- Ability to articulate technical requirements and trade-offs in a business context to enable effective decision-making.
- Demonstrated capacity to grasp complex business and technical concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to suit the audience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst capacity.
- Practical experience in creating business process diagrams and documentation.
- Familiarity with enterprise CRM software solutions, such as Blackbaud CRM.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Understanding of advancement concepts and processes.
- Experience in Higher Education or within a complex organizational structure.
