Northrop Grumman is on the lookout for a driven professional to become a member of the SEC reporting team. This prominent team is integrated within the Controller's organization and is tasked with spearheading the quarterly SEC Financial Reporting process, alongside managing the Company's Financial Consolidation reporting system. The Financial Analyst for SEC Reporting will report directly to the Manager of SEC Reporting.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS include:

  • Compile data for external reporting (Earnings Release, 10-Q, 10-K), including the preparation of XBRL tagging.
  • Engage with sector financial reporting teams and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and ongoing enhancement of the financial closing process.
  • Assist managers with ad hoc requests, including opportunities for cross-functional collaboration within the organization.
  • Provide financial accounting support for acquisitions, divestitures, and realignments as assigned.
  • Monitor existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting requirements, evaluating their relevance to Northrop Grumman.
  • Prepare and submit specific quarterly and annual census reports and surveys.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficient understanding of SEC regulations and U.S. generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for grammar and diction.
  • Strong research and analytical skills; capable of clearly summarizing the implications of SEC reporting or financial accounting requirements on Northrop Grumman.

This position may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications outlined below.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Level 3:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Master's degree or CPA may substitute for 2 years of experience; a master's degree and CPA may substitute for a total of 3 years of experience.
  • Public Accounting experience, if directly relevant, may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Master's degree or CPA may substitute for 2 years of experience; a master's degree and CPA may substitute for a total of 3 years of experience.
  • Public Accounting experience, if directly relevant, may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Experience in public accounting, reporting, and/or auditing.
  • Prior experience in the aerospace & defense sector.
  • Familiarity with Hyperion Financial Management software.
  • Experience with Workiva and/or XBRL.

Salary Range: $88,700 - $133,100

Salary Range 2: $109,900 - $164,900

The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may qualify for Long Term Incentives. Furthermore, Northrop Grumman offers a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plans, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
