Job Summary
We're seeking a skilled Corporate Counsel to provide legal counsel associated with litigation and dispute resolution. This role supports all phases of the litigation process from investigation, pleadings, and discovery to pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal. The successful candidate will report to the Associate General Counsel, Litigation and be based out of Waltham, Massachusetts.

The Role
We're looking for a self-starter and team player with excellent written, oral, listening, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to interact effectively with varied audiences, including executive team members. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with outside counsel to take an active role in litigation involving contract, personal injury, property, employment, and environmental disputes.
  • Revising and/or drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements.
  • Managing pre-litigation disputes, including drafting and responding to demand letters in connection with contract enforcement and insurance coverage matters.
  • Conducting internal investigations, including collecting and reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing investigative reports.
  • Preparing company witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Representing the company in administrative agency proceedings and small claims court where needed.
  • Assisting with managing legal holds, e-discovery collection and production, and responding to third-party subpoenas and requests for information.
  • Working cross-functionally with other legal team members and business leaders to provide sophisticated advice regarding company policy, insurance coverage, contract interpretation, regulatory compliance, and employee relations.
