The RoleThe VP, Operating Partner will provide direct, hands-on strategic and operational support to SCAN's portfolio companies.
They will ensure that executive teams have the necessary resources, growth opportunities, team members, strategy, and processes to meet established objectives.
Specifically, they will be responsible for Growth and Business Development across the portfolio, identifying revenue-generating opportunities and leading innovation projects to discover and develop strategies, business opportunities, and new technologies that align with SCAN's mission and vision.
Responsibilities- Partner closely with executive management of portfolio companies to formulate and establish strategic growth plans, including pipeline development, care delivery model innovation, and new business models across the health plan, new geographies, and new companies.
- Source, own, and be accountable for growth, sales, and other business development opportunities for portfolio companies, such as additional payer partners and providers.
- Contribute to innovation efforts to expand revenue opportunities and increase profitability across all platform investments.
- Provide guidance and direction as companies navigate challenges in creating, growing, and scaling.
- Support company investment and acquisition, as applicable.
- Contribute to a team of individuals to enable thorough and productive due diligence, investment, and execution processes.
- Assist investors in identifying, prioritizing, and executing key strategic initiatives across business plans.
- Develop strategic direction and growth initiatives in a format that clearly outlines ROI for sponsor approval.
- Strategically lead revenue projections, budget forecasts, and related expense management.
- Be the conduit for and ensure that portfolio companies collaborate and communicate across the portfolio of assets and SCAN Group parent company.
- Work with senior leaders to assess and develop their growth potential, effectiveness, and performance.
- Partner with individual strategic leaders of each business line to establish unit realistic performance objectives, training, education, coaching, and mentoring.
- Actively support the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.
- Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MPH, MHA) preferred.
- 5-10+ years of experience in one or more of the following: healthcare company, management consulting, private equity, venture capital, banking, or related industry.
- 5-10+ years in a VP+ leadership role, strongly preferred in the healthcare industry (e.g., payer, provider, or health tech).
- Strong preference for successful start-up, growth stage, or turnaround company experience.
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work with and coach senior executives.
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Skilled in developing and leveraging B2B relationships.
- Out-of-town travel as needed.
Base Salary Range: $275,000.00 to $325,000.00 annually
Work Mode: Mostly Remote
