Position: Mechanical Assembler, Final Assembly 1st Shift

Salary: Starting at $19.00 per hour

Location: Torrington, CT

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a diverse range of assembly operations for electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical components, including both large and small assemblies.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and sequence travelers to perform tasks such as wiring, component installation, welding, and fitting.
  • Make necessary setups and adjustments while adhering to blueprint specifications.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing tasks meet established quantity and quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with Environmental Health & Safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Engage positively with colleagues, management, and customers, fostering a respectful workplace.
  • Interpret drawings and other documents to fulfill production requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Trade School or Military experience is advantageous.
  • Experience: Prior experience in manufacturing or mechanical roles is preferred; experience in automotive repairs, construction, or assembly environments will also be considered.
  • Skills: Proficient in using electronically controlled equipment and hand tools, with experience in tooling and assembly involving heavy machinery.
  • Familiarity with quality measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience operating air pallets, forklifts, and overhead cranes is beneficial.
  • Background in welding and electronic/wiring assembly is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Physical demands include lifting, pushing, and moving manufacturing parts, potentially weighing up to 25 lbs. or more with assistance.
  • Ability to remain on feet and navigate the plant for extended periods, with designated breaks.
  • Capability to perform repetitive motions with full range of motion in both hands and arms.
  • Willingness to work with chemicals and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
