Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Solderer II at Altek:

  • Conduct a variety of routine manufacturing tasks in one or more of the following areas:
  • Prepare and place components on PCBs.
  • Perform hand soldering of through-hole or surface mount components, and/or wires to PCBs.
  • Demonstrate soldering skills using a microscope and magnifying tools.
  • Execute trim touch-ups and basic rework on PCBs based on inspection criteria and feedback.
  • Clean and wash PCBs as necessary.
  • Assist in resolving routine manufacturing issues impacting daily operations.
  • Engage in semi-complex tasks within the area of specialization.
  • Interpret documented rules, past practices, or instructions with a degree of independence.
  • Identify problems as they arise and take appropriate measures to address them in straightforward situations.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols and 6S practices.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent eyesight and hand coordination.
  • Ability to read and comprehend assembly diagrams.
  • Proficiency in soldering with magnification assistance.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team setting with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Typically, 2-4 years of successful experience in the relevant field, demonstrating the essential duties and responsibilities outlined above.

Working Relationships:

Interactions are primarily with the immediate supervisor and colleagues within the same department. May involve communication with other departments and providing guidance to less experienced team members.

Working Conditions:

Position requires the ability to lift materials and products weighing up to 30 pounds.
