Description of Work
This position is primarily located at the Juvenile Detention Center.
The Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention is dedicated to providing essential services to youth in detention. This role is focused on the following key responsibilities:
- Facilitating case management and coordination of services related to health, mental wellness, and substance use, ensuring a comprehensive approach to care for detained youth.
- Acting as the primary contact and intermediary among the juvenile, the center, medical and mental health service providers, court counselors, and other relevant stakeholders, adhering to confidentiality policies.
- Organizing appointments for health, mental health, and substance use services, arranging transportation, and accompanying juveniles when necessary.
- Documenting outcomes of assessments and treatments, maintaining accurate records in compliance with medical and confidentiality standards.
- Compiling and managing data for monthly reporting requirements.
- Ensuring adherence to medical policies by reviewing records and medication administration processes.
- Overseeing medication supply and compliance by liaising with families and healthcare providers.
- Providing direct supervision to juveniles within the facility.
- Implementing center protocols and guidelines effectively.
- Delivering crisis intervention and group counseling services.
Additional Responsibilities: Assisting in the training of new staff and supervising direct care personnel, ensuring that medical training is provided and updated regularly. In the absence of supervisory staff, this position may assume leadership responsibilities within the center.
Note: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in social work principles, community resources, and treatment of behavioral issues. Skills in first aid and basic medical terminology are essential. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and experience in casework or community organization are required.
