Position: Nursing Care Specialist (RN)

Position Overview:
- Ensure high-quality nursing services for patients by adhering to physician directives, state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies.
- Administer prescribed medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous) in accordance with physician orders and facility guidelines.
- Oversee and mentor nursing assistants and support staff.
- Assist medical professionals during patient rounds as required.
- Provide care and support to patients during medical evaluations and treatments.
- Carry out scheduled treatments during shifts and maintain accurate documentation, following infection control protocols.
- Comply with all standards regarding hygiene, infection prevention, and universal precautions.
- Participate in research initiatives aimed at enhancing nursing care quality, as assigned.
- Support the management of patient records, orders, and assessments for new admissions. Ensure timely scheduling of annual physicals with attending physicians and completion of necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse, graduated from an accredited nursing program.
- Current, valid licensure from the North Carolina Board of Nursing, with proof of renewal every two years.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional nursing care, particularly in geriatric settings.
- Annual CPR certification required.
- Participation in in-service training and staff meetings as necessary.
- Ability to supervise nursing assistants effectively to ensure timely and appropriate completion of tasks.
- Reliable, adaptable, and capable of collaborating effectively with nursing staff and other departments, exhibiting understanding, patience, and professionalism when interacting with patients, families, and medical personnel.
- Proficient in making informed decisions regarding nursing care, with an awareness of the significant impact of errors on patient well-being.
