Position Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Overseeing and directing mechanical engineering design for multiple projects in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Pulp & Paper, Mining, and Heavy Manufacturing.
  • Collaborating closely with clients to define project scopes and develop estimates to secure necessary funding.
  • Participating in meetings with external clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conducting field verifications and organizing collected field data.
  • Completing and/or reviewing design calculations and selecting appropriate equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with project reporting and documentation standards.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and drafters regarding project designs.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with existing clients while pursuing new opportunities to foster organizational growth.
  • Engaging in business development activities, including preparing marketing materials, delivering presentations to potential clients, and attending industry trade shows.
  • Adhering to LHB's quality assurance and quality control processes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering design.
  • Professional Engineering licensure.
  • Knowledge of hazardous liquid, gas, process, and power piping systems and equipment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including background checks and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in supervising staff.
  • Aspirations or experience in leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and analysis software such as Ceasar II and/or AFT Fathom.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work within changing priorities.
