Senior Mechanical Engineer

LHB is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy and Industry Business Unit. This role will be based out of our Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead mechanical engineering design for various projects in the Oil & Gas, Pulp & Paper, Mining, and Heavy Manufacturing markets.
  • Work closely with clients to develop project scope and estimating to secure funding.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with external clients throughout the project life cycle.
  • Perform field verifications and organize acquired field data.
  • Complete and/or review design calculations and equipment selection.
  • Ensure project reporting and documentation requirements are met.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to junior engineers and drafters on project designs.
  • Foster relationships with existing clients while cultivating new relationships to drive organization growth.
  • Participate in business development activities, including collaborating with the marketing team and attending trade shows.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 10+ years of previous employment in engineering design.
  • Professional Engineering licensure.
  • Familiarity with hazardous liquid, gas, process, and power piping systems/equipment.
  • Willingness to travel intermittently.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience supervising staff.
  • Leadership experience and/or aspirations.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and analysis software.
  • Experience using AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills.
