Position Overview

Remington College is in search of a distinguished educator and leader in health sciences.

If you are a passionate and experienced clinical professional in health sciences (such as RN, LPN, certified medical assistant, or radiologic technologist) with a background in ambulatory patient care and teaching, we would like to connect with you.

We are seeking a committed Medical Assisting Program Chair to oversee our medical assisting program, collaborating closely with the Director of Education to manage faculty and student interactions effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the department's curriculum.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training processes for faculty members.
  • Provide valuable input regarding personnel decisions, including hiring and performance evaluations, to the Director of Education.
  • Exercise independent judgment in specific subject areas under your administrative purview.
  • Assist in organizing student orientations and graduation events, actively participating in these initiatives.
  • Help coordinate Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings and attend these sessions.
  • Monitor student attendance and manage attrition rates within the program.
  • Implement strategies to control student attrition.
  • Research and apply technological advancements relevant to the field.
  • Complete CPR training or relevant refresher courses as necessary.
  • Supervise and direct the work of all staff within the academic program.
  • Provide support to the Director of Education in achieving academic program goals and ensuring positive outcomes.
  • Teach courses as needed.
  • Travel as required for program needs.
  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in medical assisting, nursing, chiropractic sciences, or a related human sciences field, along with a diploma in medical assisting.
  • Possession of a current and verifiable license/registry within the state of employment.
  • Current certification from an accredited certifying body is required.
  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience, including a minimum of one (1) year of in-class teaching experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills are essential.
