The American Academy of Ophthalmology is currently seeking a Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs to take on a pivotal leadership position within the department at the level of Associate Professor or Professor. We are in search of a dynamic, forward-thinking physician leader and team-builder who possesses exceptional integrity, outstanding interpersonal skills, and extensive experience in clinical operations and healthcare administration.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing our growing clinical operations across various practice locations. This includes managing services in multiple metropolitan areas and collaborating with educational leadership to synchronize faculty activities at our training sites.
We invite applications from candidates specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology as well as all subspecialties within the field. The ideal candidate will hold an MD degree, be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and qualify for medical licensure. A completed ACGME accredited residency in ophthalmology is mandatory, while an AUPO accredited fellowship is preferred for subspecialty candidates.
Compensation and appointment rank will be aligned with academic standing and professional experience.
