The American Academy of Ophthalmology is seeking a Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs to play a pivotal leadership role within the department at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. We are in search of a dynamic and innovative physician leader who possesses outstanding integrity, exceptional interpersonal skills, and substantial experience in clinical operations and healthcare administration.
The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing our growing clinical services across various practice locations, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency. This includes leadership across multiple sites, enhancing our outreach and impact in the community.
In collaboration with our educational leadership, the Vice Chair will also coordinate faculty activities at our affiliated teaching institutions, fostering a robust educational environment for residents and fellows.
The role encompasses approximately 40-50% dedicated to Vice Chair responsibilities, with the remainder focused on Faculty Practice and scholarly pursuits.
We invite applications from candidates specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology as well as all subspecialties. Ideal candidates will hold an MD degree, be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and be eligible for medical licensure. Completion of an ACGME accredited residency in ophthalmology is essential, with preference given to those who have completed an AUPO accredited fellowship.
Compensation and appointment rank will be aligned with academic qualifications and professional experience.
