Role Overview:

The MRI Technologist will operate under general supervision, conducting magnetic resonance imaging studies. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing patients for procedures, positioning them correctly, and setting imaging parameters.
  • Performing computer processing and displaying images, ensuring quality assurance scans are completed as required.
  • Administering intravenous injections of MR contrast agents and monitoring for any adverse reactions.
  • Instructing patients and visitors on MR safety protocols and ensuring compliance with safety practices.
  • Reviewing schedules to confirm exams are properly protocoled and addressing any contraindications.
  • Collaborating with radiologists for protocol clarifications when necessary.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including patient care areas and imaging rooms.
  • Assisting with inventory management and supporting other department staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • ARRT (MR) certification required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Program.
  • BLS certification.
  • Advanced MR certification to be obtained within 18 months of hire.
