TASB is a leading organization that advocates for excellence in public education on behalf of Texas school board members. With over 500 employees, we provide purposeful resources to 1,024 school districts and 50 community college districts across Texas.

Your Impact:

In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing legal and policy consulting services to TASB's community college membership, comprising all 50 Texas public community colleges. Your expertise will guide community college board members and administrators on legal and policy matters, review and draft policies, write and edit publications, conduct training sessions, and provide other essential services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of community college law, policy, and best practices.
  • Provide sound guidance to community colleges and colleagues on legal and policy issues, exercising good judgment and discretion.
  • Collaborate with the team and other TASB divisions to expand services to the community colleges.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

">
  • A graduation from an accredited law school and a current Texas law license in good standing.
  • Experience in community college law or a related field, preferably with strong writing, editing, and speaking skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, communicate complex information effectively, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
